Born and raised in Arlington Heights, Dr. Amanda M. Karm has strong roots in Arlington Heights. She graduated from St. Viator High School before attending college at St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI. There, she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology before attending National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) in Lombard, IL. She graduated Cum Laude from NUHS with a Doctoral Degree in Chiropractic and certification in Acupuncture. She was very excited to return to her her home town and start a new phase of her life by spreading the message of health and wellness!
It is important to Dr. Karm that she remain current with the most up-to-date treatments and therapies. Therefore, she completed numerous post-graduate seminars including: acupuncture, McKenzie Method of mechanical and diagnosis and treatment of the cervical and lumbar spine, as well as various topics involving women’s health issues. Dr. Karm offers pregnancy well-woman care including but not limited to complementary treatment of various musculoskeletal conditions, pre- and post-partum care, and pregnancy pain relief. In addition, she also has a practice emphasis in pediatric patients and treatments for common health conditions among this population.
When Dr. Karm is not treating patients, she enjoys yoga, attending local farmer's markets and cooking with locally grown foods. She volunteers by stretcheing runners and walkers at various races throughout the years around the Chicagoland area including the Health & Wellness Initiative's 5k and the Chicago Bank of America Marathon with The Hall-Steps Foundation and Run for Prentice. Both organizations use running as a means of fundraising for their respective causes. Dr. Karm is also very active in the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce.
