Dr. Amanda M. Karm
Owner, Chiropractic Physician
Dr. Karm is dedicated to spreading the message of health and wellness in and around Arlington Heights, the city in which she was raised. Dr. Karm graduated from St. Viator High School, St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI with her Bachelors of Science, and with honors from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL. She emphasizes treatment of women’s health issues, pre- and post-pregnancy pain and wellness care, pediatric wellness care, musculoskeletal conditions.
Dr. Gretchen Schwarzbeck
Associate Chiropractic Physician
Dr. Gretchen Schwarzbeck was raised in Mount Prospect where she attended Prospect High School. She was first introduced to chiropractic medicine when she injured her back in high school cheerleading. This inspired her to study Health Sciences at Bradley University and earn her Chiropractic Medicine degree at National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL.
Dr. Tanya Freseth
Associate Chiropractic Physician
Dr. Tanya Freseth has been serving the Chicago area since 2012. She grew up in Altoona, WI, then ventured onto get her B.S. in Applied Science at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2008. While at UW-Stout, she played basketball for the first two years until back pain got the best of her. It was at that point, she made it her mission to not let injuries and pain stop people from doing what they love.

For many years, I have worked with various physicians specializing in reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery, acquiring a passion for helping patients look and feel their absolute best. When I am not at Active Care Chiropractic & Rehabilitation, I enjoy bike riding, playing recreational sports, spending quality time with my family, and working out at home. “Home” has been Schaumburg, IL, for the past 6 years, after having grown up in Algonquin, IL. Born and raised in IL – go Cubbies!
Betheny Kopera
Lead Patient Coordinator
I am so excited to join this wonderful team! I grew up with both my mom and uncle as Chiropractors, so Chiropractic has been in my life from an early age. I graduated from Missouri State University from the college of Health and Human Services. I have always had a passion to serve my community, and I am eager to help patients along their Chiropractic journey. In my free time, I am an avid reader, Disney nerd, and love to travel with my husband.
Cheryl Wetterhahn, LMT
Licensed Massage Therapist, Fascial Stretching Therapy Certified
I am experienced in many modalities such as Fascia Stretch Therapy, Cupping, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Prenatal, and Sports Massage techniques. I have a specialty in Fascial Stretch Therapy where I received my certification from the Stretch To Win institute as a Level 3 Medical Specialist. I also specialize in cupping and myofascial release. I also teach a class called “ Life Stretch” Where I teach you Self assessment, posture, breathing and fascial stretching.
Krista VanPuyenbroeck
Patient Coordinator
I’ve been in the medical field for over 12 years and currently in school to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. I spend my free time with my 2 daughters and 3 dogs out in Lake in the Hills. Chiropractic care has been a part of my life for many years and I am excited to work with this amazing group of women!
